Arsenal vs Bolton Preview

Arsenal entertain Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, hoping to build on their solid run of form in recent weeks. Bolton are notoriously Arsenal’s achilles heel in recent seasons, as their more physical and direct style of play appears to render us unable to play our passing game. However in front of a packed Emirates crowd I expect us to make it three wins on the bounce in all competitions, with a narrow victory for the Gunners.

Arsenal vs Wigan Preview

December 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Arsenal welcome Wigan to the Emirates on Saturday hoping to build on their impressive 2-1 away win at Chelsea last weekend. Lets hope getting knocked out of the Carling Cup by Burnley in midweek (Wenger’s first loss against lower league opposition) turns out to be a blessing in disguise as we lost both league games after decent wins against Sheffield Utd and indeed Wigan in previous rounds. I expect the league game will be a different proposition though, as despite more senior players returning to the starting XI and our improving injury situation, Wigan have found some decent form in recent weeks, and we all know Arsenal can be suspect against any Northern side packed full of 6ft plus players. However, I feel the Chelsea game will kick start our season, and unlike after the Utd victory, we will follow it up this time with a decent run of form, starting tomorrow. With Kolo Toure likely to return in place of the injured William Gallas to partner the 6ft 3in Johan Djourou at the back , I believe we will cope with the physical presence of Heskey and co.

My Prediction: 2-1 to the Arsenal, with Adebayor back amongst the goals, but I don’t expect it to be easy
